About This Experience

This is the short version of the Pig Island trip — about three hours on the water and roughly five door to door, rather than the full-day island-hopping circuits most operators sell. The transfer runs down to the quiet south coast of Koh Samui, where a speedboat crosses shallow, sheltered water to Koh Tan in a fraction of the time an open-sea run would take.

Koh Tan is the snorkelling stop. The reef sits close in and shallow, so it suits people who are not confident swimmers as much as it suits anyone with a mask. Visibility and marine life both move with the weather, and plenty of guests skip the reef entirely and just float. Gear and life jackets come with the trip.

Pig Island itself — Koh Madsum on the chart — is the second stop: a white-sand bay with a resident herd of pigs that wander down to the shallows when a boat arrives. Buffet lunch is served on Koh Tan. The 50-baht island entrance fee is collected in cash on arrival and is not part of the ticket price.

Meeting Point

Hotel pickup is included from most Koh Samui addresses; the boat leaves from Bang Kao in the south of the island. Pickup runs 40–50 minutes depending on where you are staying, and the time is confirmed by WhatsApp or email the evening before. A no-transfer option is also bookable for guests who prefer to meet at the pier.
